How much does it cost to get open water certified for scuba diving?
I am going to go Scuba Diving for my first time, and I’m going to the Great Barrier Reef. How much does it cost to get PADI certified? How long does it take? Do I need to buy equipment for training? And while diving in the reef can I wear a wet suit that only goes down to my knees and elbows? Thanks

Learning to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, back in the year 2000. We had a 1 week training course including 9 dives on a liveaboard which moved between different reefs. Video includes parts of the PADI open water certification including navigation, removing mask. Lots of fish, turtles, corals and other amazing underwater life. Fran is wearing pink fins, and Neil has odd blue and green fins. The last two minutes show some library footage from Cairns Dive Centre….

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the largest reefs in the world and has amazing marine life. It is one of the ‘top ten’ diving destinations! This 1,200 mile long reef offers something for every one.
There are shallow reefs for the begginer and huge walls and drop off sections for those who are more advanced or adverturous. There are also shore dives as well as wreck dives available in this amazing place.
